The 2010 GMC Terrain SUV, the byproduct of the Chevy Equinox, will hit the showrooms of General Motors this coming September bringing along with it a price tag of $24,995 for the FWD model and $26,745 for the AWD model. Included in both prices is a destination and freight charge of $745.
Power under the hood for the base SLE1 model is a 2.4L four-pot powerplant that delivers 182hp and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy of this unit is pegged at 32mpg for highway driving as estimated by the EPA. Included in the standard equipment of the SUV are integrated rear-view camera system and an audio system that includes AM-FM-CD and 6 speakers plus USB interface and XM satellite radio service, six passenger safety airbags, vehicle stability control by StabiliTrak and OnStar. Features for the higher trim level SLT2 includes leather seating, a premium sound system by Pioneer, powered liftgate, sunroof and a special chrome-look package. Including destination and freight, the price tag begins at $29,995. The Terrain SUV, besides the 2.4L unit, has also a 3.0L direct injection V6 unit that is capable of 265hp and a fuel economy rate of 18mpg city driving and 25mpg highway driving. Additional standard equipment for the V6 versions are built-in navigation system and rear seat DVD information and entertainment system.
